The Central Valley has been my home since my family and I immigrated here from the Azores Island of Sao Miguel, Portugal in 1963. My father told me that we came to America with less than nothing and had to borrow money from his sister just to be able to bring the whole family. He never once regretted coming to America because this was, and still is, the land of opportunity. 

With two (2) adults and seven (7) children in a 3-bedroom/1 bathroom house, my family began living the American Dream: plenty of food, education, and opportunities to advance with hard work and integrity. I grew up believing this “dream'' was a reality, and because of that belief as well as the hard work of true patriots who have defended it, the dream became my reality.

I graduated from high school in 1980 and met my soon to be wife Amy that summer. We married in 1982 and accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior in 1984. We were blessed with three (3) children and started a family business that I still run today. I have been focused on that American Dream and believe that same hope of honest opportunity is still alive today.

The American Dream will no longer exist if we allow the Socialist/Communist agenda to continue. Many of our immigrants from communist countries, as well as those who survived the Holocaust, warn us that this shift is eerily familiar. We would do well to heed their warning.

We all have an obligation to fight back against the policies that would enslave us and place us under complete dependence of an authoritarian government. 

We are still One Nation Under God. We may be flawed, but if we all embrace the words of the late, great John F Kennedy; ‘Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country.’, we can all play our part in making America the great nation she was destined to be.

I am doing my part; I am running for Congress and look forward to showing you what I can do for you and your country.
